Vocabulary
1.address: the number of the building, name of the street and town, etc., where a person works or esp. lives
2.married: having a husband or wife
3.secretary: a person with the job of preparing letters, keeping records,arranging meetings, etc., for another
4.typewriter: a machine with keys which are pressed in order to print letters, numbers, or other characters onto paper
5.boss: a master; employer; person having control over others
6.editor: person who is in charge of a newspaper or magazine and who decides what will be published in each edition of it
7.Jane: a female name
8.James: a male name and also a family name
9.Edinburgh: the capital of Scotland
10.Princess Street: the name of a street in Edinburgh
Cultural Notes
1. People in the West usually do not ask about others' ages. Questions about ages, income and family are considered personal. They are only acceptable in such settings as interviews, courtrooms, etc. "How old is your wife?" is a very personal and impolite question to ask, so the man evades the question.
2. Lunch time may be as early as 11:30 a. m. or as late as 2:00 p. m.
