Learning focus
The learning focus of Units 7 and 8 is the quick identification and summarization of the key points and main ideas of some conversations and passages on the topic of education.

The materials presented in these two units are relatively familiar to the students. Meanwhile, they also contain some highly practical and valuable information and advice for foreign language learners. Therefore, class discussions, both before and after listening, will prove to be an effective measure for checking what the students already know, what they are most interested in and what their own experiences and viewpoints are on the related sub-topics.

Hopefully, the listening practice in Units 7 and 8 will provide the students with an opportunity to improve their study habits by careful thinking and transfer.
